Travel companies queue up to help Chloe Rutherford fundraising appeal

More than 30 travel companies have donated prizes for a special raffle to raise money for the families of agent apprentice Chloe Rutherford and her boyfriend Liam Curry who were killed in the Manchester bombing.

Staff at Westoe Travel in South Shields where Chloe, 17, worked have organised the Together Forever The Big Prize Draw to take place on August 31.

Agents and operators are being encouraged to get involved, either by donating more prizes, or purchasing or selling tickets.

Flights to Dubai and a city cruise break to Amsterdam are among the prizes. A table for ten at Travel Weekly’s Northern Ball in Manchester will also be auctioned off.

A JustGiving page set up by Manchester agents Ken Garrity and Jill Waite has raised almost £2,000 in the first week.

Owner of Westoe Travel Graeme Brett said: “We are overwhelmed at the support of operators and colleagues in the travel industry and we are so proud to be part of an industry that can share both its achievements and challenges together.

“There cannot be any other industry where such support would be received.

“All of us at Westoe Travel would like to say a huge thank you to everyone.”
