Quito Connections event to host top meetings industry executives

Quito will host the 2017 edition of Connections Meetings in a bid to strengthen the city’s position as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice).

Connections Meetings (July 2-5) will bring together up to 80 leaders from the meetings travel industry, as well as Mice buyers from all over the world to do business and discuss trends in the market.

Buyers attending the event in Ecuador’s capital represent key and emerging markets – including the US and Brazil – and reflect the region in which the event is located.

There will be 30 to 40 leading luxury travel suppliers from around the world, including airlines, hotels, private jet and yacht charters, cruise lines and destinations. Brands taking part include Latin Trails, Pure Travel Group, Cuenca Municipal Tourism Board and Quito Turismo.

The event will feature seminars, panel discussions and debates, and participants will take part in activities, meetings and networking opportunities.

Quito has already hosted conventions, such as the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development.

It is also building a convention centre, due to be completed at the end of 2018, as part of the city’s drive to become a key destination for meetings and conventions.

Connections is a global networking and event organiser serving senior leaders and experts in meetings, luxury and wellness and is a sister brand of Travel Weekly within Jacobs Media Group.
