EasyJet expects record Easter with 250k passengers on Good Friday

EasyJet is expected to record passenger numbers over Easter with more than 141,000 set to fly to and from UK airports on Good Friday alone.

The budget airline will operate 934 UK flights on April 14 and break the record for the most passengers travelling with the airline on one day during the Easter getaway.

A total of 2.4 million passengers are due to fly across easyJet’s network between April 1-17, with a peak of 250,000 on 1,628 flights during Good Friday.

Malaga, Palma, Faro, Alicante, Paphos and Catania top the list of favourite sunshine destinations with Geneva the favourite for late season skiing.

UK market director, Sophie Dekkers, said: “Year after year Easter continues to be one of our busiest travel periods for our customers and this year will be no exception.

“Whether customers are flying to visit friends and family or incorporating skiing into their Easter breaks this year, we are doing everything possible to make our customer’s Easter travel as easy and of course, affordable as possible.”
