Peter Fankhauser to give Abta Travel Matters keynote speech

Thomas Cook Group chief executive, Peter Fankhauser, is to give the keynote speech at this year’s Abta Travel Matters conference.

The event carries the theme ‘Redrawing the Map’ and will focus on policy matters for the travel industry arising out of Brexit.

Fankhauser will touch on industry topics such as Brexit, the changing travel landscape, and how Thomas Cook is adapting.

Daily Mail consultant editor and columnist, Andrew Pierce will offer his take on the current political landscape.

A full programme of speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The half-day event on June 28 at RSA House in London will also cover upcoming changes to the Package Travel Directive as well as proposed increases to London’s airport capacity.

Abta chief executive, Mark Tanzer, said: “With Brexit negotiations getting underway and significant regulatory reform on the horizon, there are important changes and updates impacting travel businesses.

“Travel Matters will be an excellent opportunity for the travel industry and government to come together to debate and discuss these key issues.”
