UK firm to offer Titanic wreck diving holidays

A UK travel company is to provide diving holidays to view the wreck of the Titanic.

Blue Marble Private is to run tours to the shipwreck in the Atlantic in May 2018, with further dives planned for summer 2019.

The eight-day journey, being run in conjunction a submersible development team at OceanGate, will take nine tourists at a time from the coast of Newfoundland on a deep ocean discovery to the Titanic.

Reaching depths of up to 4,000 metres in a specially-designed titanium and carbon fibre submersible, guided by a crew of experts, travellers will glide over the ship’s deck and grand staircase capturing a view that very few have ever seen.

The trip is described by the London-based travel firm as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience and an expedition designed only for those with a truly adventurous spirit”.

Titanic sunk in the early hours of April 15, 1912 after colliding with an iceberg four days into its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York with the loss of 1,517 lives.
