Joy Lacana leaves Intrepid Travel

Joy Lacana has left Intrepid Travel after eight weeks in the job.

Lacana took the role of EMEA head of industry sales at the adventure operator at the start of the year to strengthen relationships with the trade.

A new head of industry sales, Andrew Turner, has been appointed in the role and is tasked with running the company’s trade distribution strategy. He was previously senior business development manager at Intrepid.

Michael Edwards, managing director EMEA for Intrepid Travel, said: “All of our senior managers have now been promoted from within the business and that has worked phenomenally well for us. Andrew is very well respected by our agent partners and I’m confident he will do a fantastic job.”

Lacana previously held roles at companies including Club Med for six years and more recently at JacTravel and TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals.

Intrepid launched its trade hub Intrepid Loves Agents earlier last year and plans to continue to invest in the trade, which now accounts for half of its UK sales.
