Walt Disney World and Virgin Holidays unveil Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway partnership

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is to host a live episode of the award-winning entertainment programme Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in April.

The series finale will be broadcast live on ITV on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in front of an audience consisting of prize winners and customers of Virgin Holidays. It will be the first time a British show has broadcast a full live episode from the Magic Kingdom Park.

A UK travel agent will have the chance to win a place for themselves and up to three guests to be in the audience by entering a competition run by Walt Disney World and Virgin Atlantic in association with Travel Weekly.

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is a live entertainment show featuring stunts, comedy sketches and celebrity appearances. The tie-up with Walt Disney World and Virgin Holidays was unveiled during the first episode of the new series on Saturday evening.

Peter Welch, Disney Destinations International’s vice-president of sales & marketing, said: “We are delighted that Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will be broadcasting live from the most magical place on Earth – Walt Disney World.

“It will be a British first and we can’t wait to make TV history with the Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway team and bring Disney magic into UK homes.”

Emma Jones, vice-president of sales for Virgin Atlantic said: “We’ve carried hundreds of thousands of families to Orlando over the last three decades, and are absolutely thrilled Walt Disney World Resort has chosen to partner with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays for this very special event.

“We’re adding a generous dash of our trademark Virgin flair to ensure it’s something our customers remember for years to come.”

Throughout the current series, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will give up to 200 prize winners the chance to head to Walt Disney World on an aircraft chartered by Virgin Holidays.

The winners will then spend their five-night stay in April exploring Walt Disney’s World’s four theme parks and two water parks before forming the audience for the season finale.
