Princess Cruises teams up with Instagram star Paperboyo

Princess Cruises has teamed up with Instagram star Paperboyo after inviting the artist on to one of its ships to produce a series of images.

Paperboyo – aka Rich McCormack – used black paper cut-outs while taking photos on a Mediterranean cruise on Royal Princess.

McCormack has more than 236,000 followers on his Instgram account and travels across the world to produce the cut out images.

He said: “I’d never stepped on a cruise ship before, so to go on Royal Princess for my first experience was an extravagant introduction to the world of cruising.

“I tried to include an aquatic theme in as many of the photos as I could as an ode to being on the cruise, hence the octopus in the Colosseum.

“A lot of the time some of my ideas just completely fail as I can’t find the right vantage point, the forced perspective illusion doesn’t work etc.

“But on this trip all of my concepts came out just as I’d hoped so perhaps Neptune favoured my aquatic ideas.”

Princess Cruises vice president, UK and Europe, Tony Roberts said: “After seeing the imaginative images that he takes across the world, we knew we had to have Paperboyo on one of our ships.

“Working with popular social media influencers like Rich is very important because it showcases cruising to a new audience.”
