Finnair appoints new general manager for the UK

A new general manager for UK, Ireland and Benelux has been named by Finnair.

London-based Andrew Fish steps up from the role of sales director, having joined the airline last summer.

He will oversee sales and marketing teams across the region, including the gateways of Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin, Brussels and Amsterdam.

Fish previously held management positions with HRG, global data firm TRX, Premier Inn and Gulf Air.

The appointment comes as ahead of the airline expanding its new generation Airbus A350 XWB service between Heathrow and Helsinki to a daily service from March.

Finnair is set to continue its Edinburgh-Helsinki service, with up to five weekly flights during the summer, while a route from Dublin to the Finnish capital will have up to nine flights a week over the peak summer period.
