Birmingham airport shut after Monarch aircraft incident

Birmingham airport has been shut after a Monarch aircraft skidded off the runway.

Monarch flight ZB467 from Nice left the runway shortly after 1.10pm.

The flight is reported to have been operated by Lithuanian company Aurela Airlines. There were not thought to be any injuries.

Inbound services have been diverted to other airports including East Midlands and outbound flights face delays.
