Thomas Cook Group has finalised the $294 million sale and leaseback of 19 aircraft.

The agreement covers 11 Boeing 757s and eight 767s and has been completed following delivery of the final group of aircraft.

The proceeds of the transaction will be retained by the group to increase liquidity, Cook said.

It follows completion of the sale of Cook’s interest in Spanish hotel group HCV last Friday for  €94 million.
