Cimber Sterling files for bankruptcy

Scandinavian airline Cimber Sterling filed for bankruptcy and suspended its operations yesterday.

Spanish carrier Vueling stepped in to offer rescue fares for passengers holding valid tickets with Cimber Sterling between Spain and Denmark.

The fares start at €100 for direct flights between Copenhagen- Barcelona or Aalborg-Barcelona and €150 for connecting flights such as Malaga/Alicante/Palma/Gran Canaria or any other Spanish airport to Copenhagen or Aalborg via Barcelona.

Prices are exclusive of taxes and charges and subject to availability.

The tickets are available until Sunday for departures until May 10.
