Future Travel reports 18% average selling price rise

Future Travel homeworkers have seen average selling prices rise by 18% since the launch of the Membership Benefit Scheme last year.

The Co-operative-backed scheme promises consumers who join it one point for every £2 spent in 2009-10. The points are then given a cash value which is then paid back to the customer in cash. At the end of the 2008 financial year each point was worth 2p.

In February more than 25% of both Personal Travel Advisor and Media divisions’ bookings were made with a membership card, while 42% of sales made through Personal Cruise Advisors were part of the scheme. This led to the 18% rise in selling prices.

Future Travel managing director Jane Atkins said: “This is great for those who have embraced The Co-operative share-of-profits scheme.”
