Holiday2Travel launches new trade bed bank

A trade-facing bed bank website, featuring apartments, villas and hotels worldwide, has been launched by Holiday2 Travel Group.

The site, Searchaccom.com, specialises in mainland Spain, the Balearics, the Canary Islands and US.

The company said it was in talks with some of the major consortia.

It operates an independent trust account and offers fidelity insurance. It also claims to be one of the only fully bonded bed banks in Europe.

Agents who register will be able to choose net prices or decide on their own percentage mark-up. Accommodation vouchers will be printable at the time of booking, and a management system for invoicing, as well as an XML feed, will be available in the coming weeks.

Paul Lusher, operations director, said: "In some cases agents will be able to mark up by 35% on these deals and still be selling cheaper than anyone else.

"We have done the comparisons; we do not profess to be cheaper everywhere, but in Spain and its islands as well as US, we have a very competitive edge.

"We are sure agents will enjoy the ease of use on the site and we will listen to everyone who has a constructive comment, good or bad to make."

Gordon Edmundson, sales director, added: "Searchaccom.com has been in development for two years, during which time we have been negotiating and developing best prices and talking to agents.

"We were being told that technology was taking over, which made the booking of hotels more complicated. We believe that simplicity and keen pricing, especially in a recession, will help agents fight back.

"Our complete bonding solution will also ensure safety for the agent and their clients’ monies."
