Holiday Options goes bust

(19 November 2009)

Specialist tour operator Holiday Options has entered administration.

All the advance bookings held by the operator, which number about 1,100, have been taken over by Cambridge-based travel company Light Blue Travel.

A spokesman from Light Blue confirmed all customers would travel as planned, under the same booking conditions.Customers currently overseas will also return as planned.

Light Blue Travel is in the process of writing to Holiday Options' customers explaining the situation.

A message on the company's answering machine thanked customers and travel agents for their support for the last 16 years.

I am in shock really, it is a massive gap in the market for that area and the work they did in promoting this part of the world was both essential and worthwhile. - Paulio, posting on travelhub

We are too, worked really closely with Holiday Options for  flights and product to Croatia. Their Res team was second to none in terms of their knowledge and assistance. - Alisonj, posting on travelhub

One of my staff has just come back from an educational with Holiday Options. Rupert Diggins worked immensely to bring the name of Holiday Options into our agencies, and we have had many satisfied customers. - addicktedtoluxuryholidaysposting on travelhub
