British Airways to charge for reserving seats

British Airways is to charge customers to choose their seats before flying from next month.
Customers who want to select their seats more than 24 hours before departure will have to pay £10 per person for European flights and £20 for long-haul in economy. Those travelling in Club World class will pay £60.
The charges will apply to clients who have a preference for a window or aisle seat, or those who want to sit together.
BA will still allow passengers to choose a seat for free within 24 hours of flying. The airline said the charges would "give customers more control over their seating options".
Those wishing to book an exit row seat can select them from 10 to four days prior to the flight departing at a cost of £50.
