Cosmos creates two managing director roles

Cosmos has created two separate managing director roles to look after its mainstream and specialist businesses.

Product and commercial director and somewhere2stay managing director Stuart Jackson has been promoted to the newly created position of managing director of Cosmos mainstream products while Alan Maclean will be joining Cosmos as the new managing director of its specialist businesses.

Maclean, who previously worked as commercial director with coach specialists Shearings, will join the company on January 5 2009 when he will assume responsibility for specialist products including Cosmos Coach Tours, Distant Dreams, and the Finnish Lapland programme.

Both managing directors will report to Monarch Travel Group group chief executive Peter Brown who said: “With Paul Jolliffe stepping down from his role as managing director we wanted to take the opportunity to split the role into two in order to give greater focus to each business unit and their separate brands.

“We are delighted that Alan has agreed to join the group bringing both escorted touring and long haul/mainstream experience to his new role.

“We are also delighted that Stuart has further expanded his responsibilities within the group.”
