Avis Europe announces 315 redundancies

Avis Europe has announced redundancies of 315 members of staff and the closure of its group headquarters in the UK.
The redundancies amount to 5% of the groups’s total head count and comes as the car hire company also closes certain low margin rental locations.
The redundancies are expected to cost a large part of the €23 million set aside for restructuring charge. The restructure is expected to save Avis around €16 million annually.
