UKinbound appoints new chief executive

UKinbound has announced that Mary Rance will take the position of chief executive and replace Stephen Dowd in the autumn.

The former Confederation of British Industry director and charity chief executive will take up the post on September 15.

UKinbound chairman Philip Green said: “The recruitment panel met some very talented candidates and we believe Mary has the qualities we are looking for at this time.

“She brings with her excellent all round experience in lobbying, networking and membership management. 

“We are sure Mary is the right person to lead the association.”

Rance added: “I am delighted to be joining UKinbound at this significant and challenging time for inbound tourism.

“With the growing economic, environmental and regulatory pressures faced by the industry, I will strive to ensure that the agenda and profile of UKinbound remain at the forefront of government thinking.”

Dowd announced his decision to quit UKinbound at the end of August earlier this year after overseeing the association's modernistaion and restructuring programme.
