Girl drowns in Spanish villa swimming pool

(22 July 2008)

A three-year-old British girl has drowned in a swimming pool on holiday in Spain.

The girl, named by police as Raisin Fisher, is thought to have fallen in to the pool at her parents'  villa in the village of Competa on the Costa del Sol.

Paramedics flew from Malaga to the scene but were unable to revive her. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

The mayor of the village Jose Luis Torres said: "The parents were inside the house and when they realised the girl was missing they began looking for her and found her at the bottom of the swimming pool. It was a tragic incident."
