British Airways is expected to announce it will cut routes by 5% because of soaring fuel costs.
It has been reported the airline is to axe dozens of short-haul routes to Europe when it announces its winter schedule on August 1.
BA has said its fuel bill could rise by $1billion this year if oil prices remain at $140 a barrell.
However, despite the Terminal 5 fiasco BA has been named as the fifth most popular brand in Britain behind Google and the BBC by the Superbrands Council.
