Virgin Holidays launches brochure for Manchester departures

(15 July 2008)

Virgin Holidays has launched a stand-alone brochure exclusively featuring flights departing from Manchester airport.

General manager sales and distribution Chris Roe said the new brochure aims to raise awareness among agents and customers in the north west and is thought to be the only one dedicated to Manchester airport currently available from a long-haul tour operator.

The operator is hoping the programme, which offers holidays from now until December 2009, will increase sales through Manchester airport by 20%.

Roe said: "We've seen steady growth in the north west and it's important that we respond to the trade and customers regionally by offering this dedicated brochure.

"It will also raise awareness of the holidays we offer directly out of Manchester airport and allow us to support the trade in their efforts in the Manchester airport catchment area."

He added the brochure will have a broader appeal than agents based in Manchester agents in Scotland and Newcastle are keen to offer their customers an alternative to the main London airports.

Roe said: "It is a lot easier going to Manchester for customers (from those areas) than it is to go to Heathrow and Gatwick."
