The Co-operative Travel has signed a deal with Travel Buddy to provide their customers with destination information through their mobile phones.

Customers can receive text messages with local weather, events, emergency numbers and travel information before and throughout their holiday.

Travel Buddy managing director Adam Winterflood said: "Being able to find out relevant information to your particular destination is a welcome and often essential tool. As more travel brands invest in communication tools, I'm excited about the potential of mobile technology development in this industry."

Travel Buddy also provides ski information to First Choice customers.
