Colletts Travel celebrates 25 years with expansion

(09 May 2008)

Colletts Travel is celebrating its 25th anniversary by expanding its tour operation.

Roy Collett founded the north London-based business in 1983 with just two staff, and his partner Michael Berlin joined him in 1997.

Colletts Travel now employs 30 agents and has an agency in Hendon, north London and another agency in Rossendale, Lancashire.

The company launched tour operation Colletts Collection in 2000 and later released a California Collection brochure.

"We have always been involved in tailor-made trips and wanted to put together our own holidays," said Collett. "We started off specialising in California and now we've gone worldwide. Our next stage will be to adddestinations to the website.

"Eventually I'd like our customers to be able to search accommodation and book online."

Having witnessed many changes over the years, the agency now concentrates on luxury and long-haul holidays. To mark the anniversary, Collett is taking his employees to Marbella, Spain in November.
