Eurostar and the Association of Train Operating Companies has announced that through fares to mainland Europe are now available from a further 65 stations in the UK.

Travellers can now buy through fares from a total of 130 British towns and cities. The new routes include trains from Brighton, Oxford or Ipswich to Paris or Brussels.

These are driving up demand for Eurostar, said the operator, with the number of journeys from outside London increasing by an average of 45% in the first quarter of 2008.

First Great Western and National Express East Anglia are Eurostar's latest partners, taking the total number of partnerships with domestic train operators to nine.

Communications director Simon Montague said: "The increasing number of UK travellers choosing to travel to mainland Europe by rail shows that a clear shift is occurring, with more and more people regarding train as a better option."

Through fares are available up to 84 days in advance from www.eurostar.com.
