Mayflower Travel goes out of business

(02 May 2008)

Essex-based travel agency Mayflower Travel has become the second company to go out of business today.

Earlier today tour operator Barwell Travel ceased trading, blaming the current credit crunch for its collapse.

Mayflower Travel, based on the High Street in Billericay, specialised in tailormade holidays and had been trading for almost 11 years. It was set up in June 1997.

Its website said the award-winning agency was "recognised as offering good service combined with quality products".

Any retail claims will be referred to ABTA's claims handling partner Cega. Enquiries can be emailed to abtaclaims@cegagroup.com or ring 01243 621500.
