Advantage members will be actively encouraged to attend next year's Triton Travel Group conference after this year's poor show.
Less than 10 members have attended this year's conference in Palma, Majorca, after most opted to attend the consortium's own conference in September.
But McEwan was confident members could be persuaded to attend next year provided Triton was made 'more relevant' to their businesses.
He said:"'It's how we organise the Triton conference so it's relevant to everybody. Certainly re/establishing the Advantage conference is something our members want to continue."
McEwan denied his consortium's members were discouraged from attending this year's event after being put on the spot by one of his own members.
"We did not discourage members from coming but we said if you can only go to one rather than two, then the priority was the Advantage conference," he said.
