Island Cruises offers first wedding packages

Island Cruises is offering its first wedding packages and a new Mediterranean cruise next year.

The cruiseline's 2009 summer brochure also introduces four ports of call in the Mediterranean and early booking savings of 70% on cabin upgrades.

Weddings are offered in Barbados, with packages from £538 per couple on board Island Star or, for a supplement, at land-based venues. Agents will receive 10% commission.

Packages include wedding planning, marriage licence, certificate and registrar fees, bridal bouquet and buttonhole, champagne for the bride and groom, wedding cake and a photograph with the captain.

The new Mediterranean Splendour itinerary on Island Star is a seven-night flycruise, replacing the Mediterranean Essence cruise. Departing Palma, it includes two new ports of call - Elba in Italy and Calvi in Corsica.

Other new ports of call for 2009 are Cannes, France and Trapani, Sicily.

Early booking offers of 70% off selected cabin upgrades are available for 2009 Mediterranean cruises on Island Star and Island Escape and on 2008/09 Caribbean cruises on Island Star.
