VisitBritain has defended its decision to move the British Travel Trade Fair from Birmingham to London next year.
The tourist organisation said moving the show to London would mean it was being in close proximity where 15 million people live within one and a half hour's drive as opposed to only five million in Birmingham.
VisitBritain head of business visits and events Joss Croft said: "The largest proportion of people attending come from London and the south east. The show is not about the destination, it is about Britain and that's why people come to it.
"Obviously we have some work to do in order to make it easier for people to get to but adding in the fact that it will also become a weekend show for consumers it will give smaller companies and homeworkers the opportunities to visit too."
