Sabre to launch social networking tool for business travellers

(25 February 2008)

Sabre and American Express Business Travel are teaming up to launch a social networking system for business travellers.

The 'cubeless' platform allows customers to share advice and recommendations about travel or any other topic.

To be launched in mid 2008, the platform will be available as an extra module on Sabre's GetThere booking system.

Executive vice president Tom Klein said travellers could use the service to find out everything from the nearest all-night restaurant to checking the hotel's facilities

He said: "Cubeless allows you to connect and benefit from the collective experience and expertise of your fellow travellers or colleagues."

Sabre launched its own employee community of cubeless last year and 10,000 profiles have now been submitted.

Head of Sabre Travel Studios John Samuel said "We are working on additional capabilities for sharing, advice or travel. The most you use it, the more ways you find to benefit."
