Hoseasons sees jump in agent sales

(04 February 2008)

Self-catering operator Hoseasons has reported a 13% increase in sales through agents in the last year.

The company expects 2008 to be a bumper year for retail travel agents as consumers look to UK breaks in response to concern over a potential economic downturn.

Business development director Pali Badwal said: "All types of agents are performing well, with The Co-operative Travel Trading Group up 26% on cottage bookings as well as the likes of Tui Travel and Thomas Cook doing well on bookings for our lodge and parks programme.

"We know the key to this success is that travel agents are now beginning to recognise that the vast majority of the overseas customers will take at least one UK holiday each year."

Hoseasons will be visiting more than 3,000 agents from now until March providing regional offers, incentives and key selling tips.
