Members of the Elite Travel Group are able to pay suppliers fortnightly rather than weekly after the introduction of a new payment method.

The Central Advantage Payment System (CAPS) is being provided by Advantage Travel Centres. It is expected to improve members' back office systems and cash flow.

Elite Travel Group general manager Nigel Ham said: "Our policy in 2008 is to work closely with other consortia to the mutual benefit of improving business. It would be pointless for Elite to re-invent the wheel when the Advantage CAPS scheme works very well already.

"John McEwan and his Advantage colleagues have been extremely forthcoming in helping us change over to a much improved and easier system of payments to travel suppliers. We will continue dialogue with Advantage and other consortia throughout the year."
