Travel 2/4 recognises top agents at 25th Anniversary Awards

(20 December 2007)

Travel 2/4 celebrated its top-selling agents from the last year by holding a 25th Anniversary Awards at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London.

About 70 agents attended last week's event. Awards were presented in 12 categories ranging from the 25th anniversary loyalty award to top Africa agent.

The highest value single booking was won by Travel Counsellors personal travel counsellor Pat Bryan, who this year secured a £141,000 booking when she arranged a holiday for herself and 77 family members and friends in Brazil.

Bryton Travel managing director Bryan Bath from Edinburgh won the award for being the top ground agent after ensuring staff up-sell accommodation as well as push pre-bookable tours to their clients.

The award for top tailor-made agent was won by Journeys a la Carte travel consultant Claire Hunt from Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.

Speaking at the event, Travel 2/4 managing director Maria Whiteman thanked continued agents for their support as the former flight consolidator converts the business into a tour operator.

She added: "We've had amazing support from the trade and the business is now in a much better place than it was two years ago. We will continue to be trade-only and everyone here is very important."
