Seligo sold to consortium

(22 November 2007)

Accommodation-only provider Seligo and Italian villa specialist Carefree Italy have been bought by a consortium led by Tony Freudmann, brother of ABTA board director Stephen Freudmann.

The consortium bought holding company The Unpackaged Group, which trades as Seligo, Carefree Italy and Unpackaged, last week. They were sold by owners David Cockerton and Rafael Melis for an undisclosed sum.

Cockerton has retained ownership of ticketing specialist Attraction World and will advise the consortium on a three-year contract.

Tony Freudmann, chairman of international travel and tourism consultancy FT International, said: "We are looking at a number of options for growth and expansion. Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks."
