Thomas Cook Group signs $400 million deal with Accenture

The Thomas Cook Group has signed a $400 million outsourcing contract with Accenture.

The new deal will see the management consultancy and technology company take on application management, technology infrastructure management, finance, accounting and human resources services for the next 10 years.

The contract supercedes one signed in 2002 for similar services and has been renegotiated to allow Thomas Cook to integrate MyTravel functions inbto its business following the merger of the two companies in June.

Thomas Cook Group joint chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa said: "We are delighted to further extend our successful strategic outsourcing relationship with Accenture. The relationship has and will continue to support our delivery of back- office operational excellence."

Accenture group chief executive-outsourcing Kevin Campbell added: "High-performing companies like Thomas Cook have found they can be more strategic, streamline operations, reduce risk and improve overall business performance by outsourcing several business processes to a single provider."
