Short break adventure cruises from Hurtigruten

(31 October 2007)

Specialist cruise operator Hurtigruten has introduced short-break adventure cruises from northern Norway.

Thanks to a new flight route from Stansted to Tromso with Norwegian Air Shuttle, the cruiseline has been able to create shorter itineraries to see the Northern Lights. The flight will mean passengers no longer have to fly via Copenhagen or Oslo to reach Tromso.

New itineraries include a three-night voyage to the far north of Norway, a trip that includes a stay in the Lofoten Islands and activities such as snow-mobiling and dog-sledding.

Hurtigruten managing director Iain Cottam said: “As the demand for short breaks continues to grow, this new flight enables us to increase our range of products for agents to sell.”

A three-night voyage starts at £395 per person including flights.
