South African Tourism gears up for training roadshows

(26 October 2007)

South African Tourism is running a series of roadshows in the run-up to World Travel Market.

The workshops aim to train 200 agents on everything the country's provinces have to offer visitors.

Agents will be split into teams and asked to spend time with representatives from each of the South African provinces and putting together possible itineraries.

South African Tourism trade relations manager Adam Weatherby said: "In addition to the bespoke training we have carried out over the last three months, at which we have met more than 200 agents, these are the first roadshows that we have put together for agents this year and the first time we have representatives from the provinces to join us.

"It's a great way for the provinces and agents to get to know each other prior to WTM, where we are planning further events and seminars to cement the learning from these sessions."

The roadshows will be held at the following locations and dates:

  • November 5: London, Hotel Russell
  • November 7: Leeds, Queens Hotel
  • November 9: Birmingham, Grand Hyatt
