EasyJet has today agreed to buy GB Airways Ltd, excluding its slots at Heathrow, for £103.5 million
Under the deal easyJet will take on 34 of GB Airways' services – 28 from Gatwick and six from Manchester.
GB Airways primarily provides services out of Gatwick to destinations across southern Europe and northern Africa under a franchise agreement with British Airways. It serves 31 destinations and operates 15 Airbus aircraft (nine A320s and six A321s) with an average age of 4.1 years.
Following the acquisition, easyJet will operate 24% of Gatwick’s slots and will fly approximately 8 million passengers across 62 routes from Gatwick.
