Denis Wormwell returns to travel as WA Shearings boss - 07 Sep 2007

(07 September 2007)

Denis Wormwell has rejoined the travel industry as chief executive of WA Shearings after a gap of six years.

Wormwell started his career at Club 18-30 and also worked for Flying Colours before joining Thomas Cook, where he was sales and UK services delivery director when he left in 2001.

He took up the role of chief executive of National Express's coach division, and has spent the last 18 months as boss of the bus division.

He started at WA Shearings this week after being approached by the company's owners, venture capital firm 3i. "They were looking for a change of direction and I had spent a lot of time on the sales and marketing and general management side of travel, leisure and transport, so it seemed like a perfect match," he said.
