Ad campaign encourages tourists to visit South East - 03 Sep 2007

(03 September 2007)

A print and online advertising campaign is to be launched to promote tourism in southeast England.

Tourism South East has received £50,000 from the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) for the project. It is also backed by VisitBritain, major train operators and visitor attractions.

UK consumers will be reminded that the region is fully 'open for business' through adverts in national and regional press, online marketing and other activities.

SEEDA executive director for global competitiveness Jeff Alexander said: "The campaign will promote the message that the recent flooding and isolated foot and mouth disease outbreak have not prevented visitors from enjoying the region's beautiful countryside, coastline and vibrant cities."
