Travellers blame airlines for flight delays - 31 Aug 2007

(31 August 2007)

More travellers in the US blame the airline for flight delays rather than security, weather or air traffic.

A survey from US information group TNS showed a total of 58% of people flying in the last three months had experienced at least one delay.

Just 10% attributed their delay to security and 5% blamed fellow passengers boarding too slowly.

Senior vice president for travel and leisure at TNS Tim Gohmann said: "Airlines have the opportunity to address the contributing factors such as overbooking and mechanical failure and win back the trust of customers."
