TUI Travel merger plans announced on Monday - 30 Aug 2007

First Choice and TUI senior managers will hear plans for the newly formed TUI Travel on Monday - the day the merger is set to get the go-ahead.

First Choice Mainstream Holidays managing director Dermot Blastland, who will head TUI Travel’s UK and Ireland operations following the merger, is set to meet with senior managers in London to discuss plans for the group.

In an e-mail to managers, Blastland said: "I wanted you as a senior manager to hear first-hand how we will operate so that you can share this information with your teams the following day."
