Holiday Taxis managing director Neil Herbert has left the company after nine months, citing personal reasons.

Herbert is moving from Kent to Cambridge to be nearer family and friends and hopes to find another job in travel. His departure last week from the resort transfer company was amicable.

Herbert, who previously worked for Holiday Extras, said: “I decided the time was right for me and I’m going to look for another job that’s an easier commute, probably in London.”

Chief executive Paul Stanyer said Herbert’s input had been key to the growth of Holiday Taxis, now enjoying its best year since launching five years ago.
His departure comes as the company makes three senior appointments, including its first sales and marketing director.

Former Vertical Group sales director Russell Parr joined as sales and marketing director in mid-August, while Holiday Taxis overseas manager Kathryn Lyon has been promoted to overseas director. Also new is Wendy Mitchell, who joins from Virgin Holidays to take the role of operations manager.

She will oversee the contact centre, administration functions and customer services.

Meanwhile, the company said its contact centre has seen staff numbers increase by a third in the last few months.
