Business-only airline MAXjet is to launch the first direct route from Stansted to Los Angeles tomorrow.
The route is expected to be popular with leisure travellers as well as providing a business link between the high technology industries around Cambridge and Silicon Valley. One-way fares start from £349 before tax.
The airline will also add a Sunday service to its Las Vegas route from September 2, while rival Eos Airlines will increase its New York schedule to 40 flights a week from September 9.
MAXjet also operates flights from Stansted to New York JFK and Washington DC.
