Teletext adds UK channel as domestic tourism gains strength - 23 Jul 2007

(23 July 2007)

Teletext Holidays has added a domestic tourism channel after research by the travel comparison website revealed that 34% of British holidaymakers will stay in the UK this summer.

Teletext's ‘Stay in the UK’ channel is designed to help customers book stays at British hotels, cottages and parks. It features 2,000 hotels, 9,400 cottages and links to the major holiday parks including Haven and Butlins.

The channel was fully transactional, Teletext said.

Teletext Holidays managing director Matt Cheevers said: “No other site can offer customers such a range of UK-based accommodation, travel and attractions. We expect the site to be a huge success, allowing advertisers and partners to reach one of the largest audiences in travel.”

The channel features destination guides for popular locations and a range of ‘Ten of the Best’ lists ranging from the best activities for children to best beaches and best places to shop.
