South Africa specialist uses local experts to boost sales - 28 Jun 2007

(28 June 2007)

New specialist operator Destinations Anywhere is using local knowledge of South Africa to help agents sell the country in what has traditionally been considered the low season.

Managing director Mike Miller has taken on a team of South Africans with the expertise to offer a full programme including cruising and skiing.

He said: "We have the local knowledge, years of experience and excellent relationships which enable us to negotiate deals that are normally difficult to come by.

"There are some fantastic resorts out there which are empty during the British summer holidays while the lack of vegetation means you are much more likely to see wildlife on safari."

Miller added commission starting at 12.5% will be paid to agents although individual deals will be negotiated.

He is looking at running marketing initiatives in conjunction with agents, adding: "I have a marketing background and I'll be looking at the co-ordinated deals we can do with agents."
