UK Cruise Convention 2007
Travel Weekly Cruise Club member Alan Haynes has completed his Association of Cruise Experts’ accreditation in just three months.
Ship visits, hosting cruise evenings and taking part in training courses from ACE (formerly PSARA) and the cruiselines, have allowed Haynes, who is manager of Ultimate Destinations in Chorleywood, to notch up the 100 points needed.
He said: "The convention has been excellent, it was useful to see the ships, and the speakers were so passionate about selling cruising.
"ACE deserves real credit. The consumer-facing element will really raise the profile of cruise agents and help us earn more money."
Haynes must now maintain his accreditation by scoring 50 points a year.
"I am definitely going to make sure my staff take the ACE accreditation," he said. "It’s your cruise knowledge CV."
