Hitwise figures show Cheapflights increased web traffic in January - 26 Feb 2007

Travel deals publisher Cheapflights.co.uk year-on-year January Internet traffic increased by 11%.

Despite the company selling off Cheapaccommodation.co.uk, Cheapshortbreaks.co.uk and Cheapholidaydeals last year to AffiliateFutures its market share increased  from 2.47% in January 2006 to 2.66% in January 2007, according to Hitwise figures.

Chief executive David Soskin claims Cheapflights was second only to Google when it came to referring consumers to travel sites for the month of January this year.

Soskin added Cheapflights had an estimated 3.2% of the UK travel market's display advertising in 2006, while both the UK and US businesses led to an estimated US$1.8 billion in flight sales last year.
