American Express survey finds business travellers value safety above cost - 31 Jan 2007

(31 January 2007)

Business travellers put reliability, safety and airline security above the cost of their trip, according to a survey by American Express.

Nine out of ten travellers said the top three things they considered when booking a trip were reliability, safety and airline security.

Cost was the sixth most important factor out of eight options, showing it's way down the list of considerations.

The research by American Express Business Travel was based on the responses from 500 travellers across the UK, France, Germany and the Nordics.

Senior vice president David Herrick said it was no surprise security has jumped up the agenda in recent years following the increased threat of terrorism.
