FORMER Medhotels founder John Kent is preparing to launch a new Europe-wide accommodation-only supplier.

Youtravel.com is being developed with a US technology firm and aims to pioneer the growth of dynamic packaging on the continent, as well as entering the UK market.

An agent-friendly website will be launched at World Travel Market in November.

Libra sales and marketing director Paul Riches, due to leave the operator next month, scotched speculation he would be working for Kent. An announcement on his new job is imminent.

Medhotels was bought by Lastminute.com in December 2003 and Kent was made managing director of retail in 2004. He left last September and is now based in Athens.
